#14 California Condor
Behold the California Condor, North America’s largest land bird! The condor became extinct in the wild in the late ‘80s, with the remaining individuals brought into captivity. An ambitious and historic conservation and reintroduction campaign has brought the wild population back up to almost 500 – so there’s much work to still be done.
